Quality assurance (QA)

Quality assurance (QA) is the set of activities that make sure an app does what it should and doesn't break in production: manual and automated tests, testing on different devices, performance and security checks.

In a good team, QA runs from the start of development, not just before release. A QA engineer is a dedicated role, not a developer testing their own work.

Ask your vendor whether they have their own QA. A bug found in testing costs a fraction of a bug found by a user in the App Store.
