MCP (Model Context Protocol)

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard through which an AI model securely connects to tools and data: databases, CRM, calendar, internal systems.

Anthropic introduced it in late 2024; in 2026 practically all major vendors support it. An MCP server exposes a company system, an MCP client (Claude, Cursor, an agent) can use it. A server built once works with all of them.
