App development
Software as a Service (SaaS)
Software as a Service (SaaS) is software a company rents over the internet for a monthly or yearly fee instead of owning and operating it. Examples: Slack, HubSpot.
The opposite is custom development, where the code belongs to you. App as a Service by MeguMethod sits in between: you pay a monthly fee, but after the minimum term the software is yours.
What it means for your business
Rule of thumb: if a SaaS fits 80 % of your processes, buy it. Build custom only what sets you apart.
